About Steven Rushing

Steven has over 15 years of teaching experience, specializing in Brass instruments. In addition to teaching private lessons, he has taught Middle School band in Alpharetta, and facilitated clinics and sectionals for other schools in Gwinnett and Forsyth Counties. Students have achieved placements in District Honor Band and All-State Band, as well as scoring Superior Ratings at Solo & Ensemble Festival. While studying at the University of Georgia, Steven had the opportunity to study with Dr. Edward Sandor and Fred Mills, of the world renowned Canadian Brass. Following his studies at UGA, Steven attained his Master’s Degree in Music Performance from the University of South Carolina, studying with James Ackley, with supplemental Lessons from Allen Vizzutti.
