Performance Experience: She has performed in various group and solo capacities, including playing with the Asheville Youth Orchestra, doing concerts with her string quartet, and solo recitals.
Teaching Experience: She has taught students of all ages in multiple disciplines including English, math, reading and music, as well as working in the public school system as a Teaching Assistant to elementary school children. Her multifaceted teaching experience informs her approach as a music instructor.
Teaching Philosophy: She believes in fostering a creative and safe space for the student that allows for learning, growth, and most of all, having fun with the instrument!
Get to know Thea Talamhan
Thea grew up in Asheville, NC and went on to attend Brown University, majoring in History. Music has been a part of her life since early childhood, when she started the violin at age 4. She went on to play other instruments including oboe, flute and guitar, but violin remains her primary passion. In her free time she enjoys hiking in the mountains, cooking and reading.
