About Theodore Musick
Get to know Theodore Musick
Theodore Musick a percussionist and music educator in Kansas City, KS. He received his degrees in Percussion from the University of Kansas (MM) and Washburn University (BM) while studying with Michael Compitello, Tom Morgan, Brandon Draper, and Keith Mallory. He is the percussion instructor Shawnee Heights High School in Tecumseh, KS and teaches percussion at Lawrence High School. He is an avid drumline and percussion coach and teaches clinics throughout Kansas and Missouri. He is the Program and Operations Director of the Washburn University Total Percussion Camp.
As a performer, Theodore is the Principal Percussionist with the Fountain City Brass Band, the current North American Champions. He can be heard on their album Over the Rainbow, performing Xylophonia. He won the Best Featured Soloist Prize at the U.S. Open Brass Band Championship, and was hailed as performing with “a truly witty bit of xylophone magic” by 4barsrest, the brass band magazine. He regularly performs with the Topeka Symphony Orchestra and in the KC Metro area.
