About Thomas Ford

Thomas Ford is a piano and guitar teacher who works with beginning to advanced students in a creative, flexible, and encouraging environment. His lessons focus on helping students become comfortable and expressive on their instrument first, often teaching by ear before gradually introducing music reading skills as confidence and ability develop. Thomas tailors lessons to each student’s goals and interests while emphasizing enjoyment, creativity, and steady musical growth. Whether preparing for auditions, school programs, performances, or simply playing for fun, students are supported at their own pace in a relaxed and motivating atmosphere. Thomas has 47 years of teaching experience and studied music at SUNY Onondaga Community College.
