Get to know Tim
Aside from taking piano lessons at home at a young age, Tim started school band in 6th grade on the alto saxophone. Once in high school he continued playing piano and started playing guitar as well. After the 10th grade he switched in school band to percussion and has been heavily involved in music since. After leaving high school he started giving guitar and piano lessons at a music store in Poquoson (Doug Norton's Music) for about 7 years. During that time he was fortunate to study piano privately with Dr. Brown at CNU. Shortly after he started his involvement with DCI Drum & Bugle Corps, performing and competing with groups from New Jersey, Wisconsin, and Ohio. After “aging out” of competitive drumline, Tim performed with the Phoenix Suns Drumline, at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, with the show drumline from Switzerland called “Top Secret Drum Corps,” briefly at Universal Studios Orlando, several more contracts with Busch Gardens, and has mainly been working as a contractor in the Middle East in a country called Oman as the seasonal Director of a military band that performs for the Sultan. Tim has most recently also started serving as a “Musical Director” for Colony Point Creative teaching a show performed at “Wild Adventures” theme park in Valdosta, Georgia.
Tim has recently started teaching privately again and is happy to be working 1-on-1 with people at Music & Arts in Yorktown!
