About Veronica McDonald

Hello, my name is Veronica S. McDonald. I am a native of Georgetown, South Carolina where my music teaching career began. I have always been passionate about music since taking piano lessons at the age of 6. Both of my parents were musicians, my dad sang with a renowned Gospel group and my mother was a church musician.  In addition to teaching music in the school district, I also served as a church musician for over 20 years in Georgetown County and taught private piano lessons.

In 2008, I relocated to Columbia, SC and began teaching music in Richland School District Two. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music Degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Ga. I also have a Masters Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.I just recently retired from the Richland Two School District in June of 2018 after teaching for a total of thirty years. My passion for music sparked an interest in me, which led to my seeking employment with the Music and Arts Studio.
