About William Mocarsky
Get to know William Mocarsky
Bill Mocarsky grew up in a multi-generational family of
professional music teachers and performers. Being the youngest of four siblings,
his exposure to a wide range of music from classical to contemporary styles was
a significant part of his early experiences.
For
more than 30 years, Bill has performed professionally at clubs, concert venues
and colleges in the Hartford region as well as in other cities throughout the
U.S. and Canada. He has also worked as a consultant involving
the technology that is associated with electronic keyboard instruments. Over the same time frame, he has worked with
hundreds of students.
Bill currently performs and records with Hartford's
"People of Goodwill", an eclectic band of mostly original music that
has shared the stage with notable artists such as Sheila E. and the late Ray
Charles. He also collaborates with
singers and other musicians. In fact, some of these collaborators started out
as students of his.
At Music & Arts, Bill teaches Piano/keyboard and
Music Theory. Students range from
beginners of all ages to advanced. In
addition to traditional methods, sessions offer the use of computer ear
training and music notation programs. He
is continually creating arrangements of songs at various levels of complexity,
which are available to students. Above all, Bill encourages creativity,
curiosity and song suggestions from his students.
