Get to know Xay Fisher
Xay Dé Fisher is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, class of 2014. During her undergraduate years she studied with Dr. Gregory Barrett, and also participated in master classes with Burt Hara (Associate Principal Clarinet of The Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra) & Steven Cohen (Associate Clarinet Professor at Northwestern Illinois University). During the academic year 2013-2014, Xay Dé earned the title of Principal Clarinet of both, the Northern Illinois University Wind Ensemble (the highest wind group within the school) & the Northern Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra. Upon graduation she received a Bachelors Degree in Clarinet Performance.
From 2014-2016, Xay Dé was a member of Chicago's Classical Symphony Orchestra, which is directed by Maestro Joseph Glymph. She once taught at the Minooka Music Studio, from 2015-2020, as well as here at Music & Arts, since 2014.
Music is a beautiful way to connect with others, and with oneself, and the objectives are to learn, grow, and most importantly to enjoy it! That is always the mission Xay Dé sets out to do with her students. Specializing in the woodwind family - clarinet, saxophone, flute, and oboe - Xay Dé hopes you’ll consider taking lessons with her. We’ll be sure to have so much fun together!
