Education: I am in the process of earning my Bachelors Degree in Music Education from UNT.
Performance Experience: I have performed in various ensembles at the University of North Texas, as well as groups outside the university.
Teaching Experience: I have experience teaching high school private lessons and college-level sectionals for multiple brass instruments
Teaching Philosophy: I aim to help students develop their own learning style, and discover a lifelong love of music.

Get to know Zachary Gilbertson

Originally from San Antonio, Zac currently attends the University of North Texas. He studies Music Education with a minor in Latin. He is a multi-instrumentalist, specializing in brass. He has studied tuba with Don Little (Fort Worth Symphony, retired), Matthew Good (Dallas Symphony Orchestra), and Dr. Jeff Baker (Dallas Opera). He has performed with a variety of ensembles at UNT, such as the Brass Band and Wind Ensemble. He has been a member of the UNT Green Brigade since 2017, and has served as a Tuba Section Leader for the past two seasons. He is currently the Student Administrator for Member Engagement. In addition to being a student, Zac maintains a career as a freelance musician in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. 

Zac is a member of the International Tuba Euphonium Association (ITEA), Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). He is affiliated with Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity and a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
