Sheet Music On Demand

Sheet Music On Demand

by John

A semi-hidden gem of Music & Arts is our Print-On-Demand capabilities. Unfortunately, due to the size of our stores, we can only hold a certain amount of music in-stock. Within the past year, we were given the ability to start printing sheet music on demand, when you want it, while you are at the store!

Read on to better understand how it works!

The Hal Leonard Publishing Company has been producing digital sheet music for a while now, and having spent the money and time on producing an amazing in-house print-on-demand team. With that being said, retailers were able to order the digital print from Hal Leonard and have a very quick turn-around time on orders. This allowed Hal Leonard to be one of the first publishers to keep more things from being “permanently out of print” because it is completely digital. Then Hal Leonard took a step to allow retailers to have the ability to print right from the brick-and-mortar locations. Sure, not everything is 100% available, but with over 1000s of different titles available, that definitely allows you to browse for more than what is in the store. With EVERY Music & Arts location equipped with Sibelius Scorch and Finale Viewer, we are able to not only PRINT your music ON DEMAND, but we are able to fully customize it to how you want it. Can’t find the easy trumpet solo version of the hit “Let it Go”? No problem, we’ll take the Big-Note Piano version and transcribe it to trumpet, and change the key to what you need it to be in. Sounds difficult, I know, but it’s very easy. Speaking of “Let it Go”, Hal Leonard made the song available to print on demand BEFORE it hit the stores. Sure we can order and preorder most of your music, but why not get it today with print on demand?

Every day, publishers are working to make things more digital and accessible. Did you know that Hal Leonard received the exclusive rights to distribute digital publications from Kendor Music? Band and Orchestra directors should love that!

Here’s the deal, next time you’re in the store, check out our TOP 10 Print Music On Demand chart and see if one of your favorite songs are up there. The chart is updated weekly. If the chart doesn’t show your favorite title, or that it’s in stock, ask us about it! Let us print it off for you so you can take it home and enjoy it today!
