Here at Music & Arts Center San Dimas we have our Open Mic nights available at 6:00 PM on every fourth Friday of the month. They are open to the public, everyone and anyone is welcomed to attend, to bring family, friends or even the next stranger you meet on the street. They foster a creative and nurturing environment for the performer.
Why is Open Mic night so essential? It’s no secret that our company specializes in B&O instruments and works with anyone from various age ranges who would like to start playing. With that, we want to provide programs here that will help you along your musical journey, this being our Open Mic night. They help all our performers get comfortable with playing in front of people. Sometimes it can be intimidating, especially for an elementary schooler who is just starting out. With our Open Mic nights we offer a pressure free and welcoming environment. If you can’t play, watch our regular performers or even the lesson students who take lessons at our store.
During our Christmas Open Mic night, we had a regular who comes into our store to practice his Bass Trombone. One of our Sales Associates had mentioned our Open Mic nights to him and had agreed to perform for December 22nd 2017. When he did, Craig brought his Trombone quartet and played various Christmas songs for everyone. All the attendees, customers, and Sales Associates enjoyed it and had a festive time.
So in closing, our Open Mic nights are VERY essential. To those starting out on their musical journey, it’s an event that plants the seed of musical performance, inspiration and encourages those in pursue of their interest. The performers who regularly come set an example for all those who attend and who play in an elementary school Beginning band. Come to our Open Mic nights, they are every fourth Friday at 6.00 PM. Hope to see you there!
