We at Music and Arts in Shenandoah are pleased to present the studio recital of Kailey Johnson’s Violin and Viola students. Kailey has been working with her performers for many months and they are now ready to show you what they can do! If you like classical music, modern music, or even just “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” then this recital is the right place to be. Kailey Johnson was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and was blessed with a love for music at a very young age. At 7 years old, Kailey began taking violin lessons in Louisville, Kentucky with Suzuki teacher, Gloria Spurlock. After graduating high school, Kailey attended Lone Star College and earned her Associate of Arts with a focus on music studies. There, she studied violin under Mr. Trung Trihn and was a member of the Kingwood Pops Orchestra. Kailey went on to study violin with Dr. Lynn Ledbetter at Texas State University, and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance. Kailey was a member of the Texas State Symphony Orchestra, and was an assistant to the Texas State String Project. Kailey was a selected violinist in the 7th Annual “Julliard Joins Texas State” event, and has been a performer at InterHarmony International Music festival in Acqui Terme, Italy and MusicArtissimo International Solo and Chamber Music Festival in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Kailey has performed in master classes given by Yo-Yo Fann, Angel Stankov, and the world-renowned Aeolus String Quartet. Kailey currently teaches private lessons in Houston, Texas and plays with Symphony North of Houston.
Music & Arts in The Woodlands is proud to present the studio of instructor Keith Amyx! Keith's students have been working hard this year on various songs, and they will be showcasing their efforts in a studio recital on July 26th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Keith Amyx is graduate of the Musician’s Institute. He studied vocal performance and flamenco style at Santa Monica Community College. He studied with instructor Paul Chester. Keith has over 25 years of performance experience in cover band and original music. He has over 20 years of teaching experience. Keith teaches acoustic guitar, electric guitar, ukulele, and bass guitar lessons. Keith teaches students of all ages, and brings fun energy to all of his lessons!
