Pointers 4 Players

What's one instrument that you've always wanted to learn? Chances are, you didn't say bassoon, you just said guitar. If that's the case, this event will be absolutely perfect  for you! Pointers 4 Players is a free, introductory, group guitar lesson that we host bi-annually. This event will be held on June 22, 2019 in store and will be split into two different sessions.

The first session will be hosted by our Tuesday/Sunday guitar instructor, Steve Ambrosino at 11 am on June 22nd. Stephen Ambrosino is a well-rounded music professional. Working out of two Philly studios (Breed Studios, Philly JAM Recording), Stephen has garnered experience working with some of Philly's finest musicians, producers, and engineers. He currently gigs with two bands (Rogue Methods, Neisha Grace) and is writing his second release for his own studio project entitled "I of Amenti". Stephen's work can be heard on the radio, in commercials, and even in theater. He has been teaching consistently for twelve years. He also holds an Associates in Music from Montgomery County Community College, and has studied classical guitar privately with Allen Krantz (Temple Univ) for several years, and jazz guitar briefly with Ben O'Neill (U of Arts).  Stephen's love of all styles of music combined with his passion for education, his tenacity to keep growing as a musician, and his energetic character, make him a great fit for young children and experienced adults alike.

The second session will be hosted by our Saturday guitar instructor, Corin Duey at 1 pm on June 22nd. Corin is currently a Jazz/ Music Ed major, at Temple University. He grew up and attended school in Cheltenham, PA where he played percussion, clarinet, and guitar in various ensembles. He began studying guitar at the age of eleven, and while jazz is his focus, he started by playing rock, and spent four years studying classical guitar. In the past few years, he has played for local productions of The Little Mermaid, The Adam’s Family, Shrek, Bye Bye Birdie, James and the Giant Peach, Zanna Don’t!, Sister Act, and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. More recently ,he has performed in ensembles directed by great artists such as Tony Miceli, Mike Natale, and Tim Green. Regardless of style or genre, Corin has a strong belief that improvisation is the key to a deeper understanding of music.

You definitely don't want to miss out on the chance to finally learn guitar! Spots are limited due to space. Be sure to call today to reserve your spot! Hope to see you there!
