Ever been playing with someone who is very well accomplished on an instrument and you have the best playing session ever. Sometimes what gives you that feel is a non verbal respect that you share in the moment musically. What I mean by this is that you must listen to who your playing with and you should not step on their toes. The musician who listens understands that their job is to accompany the situation and should add not copy or play over the person taking a solo or simply creating a groove. Often on a band stand or in an ensemble people will want to play over what some is creating. This creates negative tension amongst the player and more importantly in the music. So a good note for all musician is to open your ears and respect each other and combined you will make a unique special sound that makes music amazing!! enjoy and have fun.
