About Alex Murrow

Alex Murrow started becoming curious about music at a young age. He would sit next to his father playing piano in the living room, in wonder asking, “What are those dots and lines?” And “Can you play those crazy looking ones?” Since then, He has picked up a wide verity of instruments and has explored many areas in the field of music.

His go to instruments are the keys and the alto saxophone (starting to self-teach himself the piano after his father showed him how to play some chords and picking up the sax in the 6th grade, later to become a marching band section leader for the altos in high school.) Further, he is also a proficient guitar and bass player and has experimented with many others from the bass clarinet to the recorder and the harmonica.

You can also find him recording his and other people’s music in his home studio set up in his room. He has already released an album of music entitled “Murrz’ Room” on streaming platforms (Murrz being his stage name) and has another project on the way. He has worked with Rap artist JC FLASH since meeting him in middle school, then being when he initially got into beat making and recording at home. Since then, he has worked with many artists including Detro Al, a Giles-Harris competition winner and WFU alumni.

He also took a 3-month hands on course on the professional music recording process at GAT3 Productions, a professional music studio in Charlotte, NC where he learned a lot of professional recording techniques and standards.

Other hobbies of his include doing open mics at local restaurants and bars and playing video games with friends online. He also enjoys reading fiction novels and is attempting to write one himself in his free time.

Alex believes that music and the arts is truly one of the coolest parts about life and hopes to instill the curiosity and passion he has into others….and to see you in the store soon!
