About Marcus Steer
Get to know Marcus Steer
My musical journey began as a child sitting in the pews at
church. I would sing along to the contemporary hymns and watch my uncle play
his electric guitar, a black 1988 Fender Stratocaster Deluxe Plus. Before long,
I had my very own Squire Mini that looked identical to my uncle’s Strat, at
least to my little eyes.
As I grew in my guitar playing abilities, I found
opportunities to play in bands and serve as a lead guitar player for church
services. During my college years, I taught guitar lessons at a small music
store in Alliance, Ohio, while serving as the president of the University
Chorale and Chamber Choir. In addition to playing guitar and singing, I also
write music. I’ve written/recorded over fifty original songs, and I’ve even had
my own choral compositions performed at notable venues such as St. Mark’s
Basilica in Venice, Italy.
While I’ve dabbled in numerous other instruments, such as
the piano, ukulele, accordion, and ukelin (no, that’s not a typo), I’ll always
be a guitar player at heart. My favorite guitar in my collection has to be that
black 1988 Strat my uncle played every Sunday in church. He sold it to me in 2007.
Whether you are looking for your dream instrument or an
entry level option like my Squire Mini, I can’t wait to help you along your
musical journey!
