About Abby Gage

Abby Gage teaches beginner to advanced percussion, creating engaging, personalized lessons centered on each student’s interests and musical goals. Her encouraging approach develops strong technique, effective practice habits, sight-reading, improvisation, and composition while exploring different percussion styles. Abby believes music should be accessible to everyone and provides clear guidance to help students recognize their progress and build confidence. She encourages students to collaborate with other musicians, prepare for recitals and school music opportunities, and explore their creativity through composition. Abby holds a B.A. in Music, has experience teaching at the University of Mary Washington, and served as principal percussionist for its concert band and orchestra.
