About Adam

Adam Burns is a saxophone, clarinet, and flute teacher who works with beginner to advanced students, creating lessons that are engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student’s interests. He incorporates duet playing into lessons to strengthen sight reading, rhythm, intonation, tempo, and ensemble skills while making learning interactive and enjoyable. Adam teaches jazz improvisation, classical repertoire, and contemporary music, helping students develop strong musicianship through material that excites and motivates them. Whether preparing for school ensembles, auditions, or simply playing for enjoyment, students receive personalized guidance designed to build confidence and lasting musical skills. Adam holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from New York University and has professional performance experience as a show band musician on cruise ships.
