About Aiken Del Aguila
Get to know Aiken Del Aguila
Aiken has been on stage his entire life. Whether it’s for dancing, acting, singing or playing instruments, the stage has been his home for a very long time. He grew up in Lima Perú, and it was at 10 years old that he picked up Trumpet and constantly showed rapid improvement. At the age of 11 he performed the trumpet solo “Cerezo Rosa” in a few events with the Richard Brand Band from the San Antonio Marianistas School. It was this what initially sparked his interest to play trumpet professionally. The years went by and at 15 he moved to Atlanta, Georgia with his family. During his Bachelor in Music at Georgia State University as Orchestral Trumpet Performance he has performed with the GSU Wind Orchestra Ensemble, their Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Jazz Combo. Additionally, aside from his requirements in college, he has participated in the Rafael Méndez Brass Institute and the California Orchestra Academy. He has competed in the National Trumpet Competition and performed in events like the Trumpet Festival of the Southeast, the Georgia Music Educators Association Conference and the Christmas Series at the Georgia Aquarium. Currently at 21, while he sets the ground for higher education, he is a Trumpet freelancer in Atlanta, the Trumpet Teaching Artist at the Atlanta Music Project, and a professional trumpet instructor at the Music & Arts East Cobb location.
