Education: Bachelor of Arts in Music with concentrations in Music Performance and Instrumental Conducting from Texas Wesleyan University
Performance Experience: Solo performances for university events at Texas Wesleyan such as the 2022, 2023, and 2024 annual President's Honors Concerts, my Junior and Senior Recitals, and various other concerts and events to promote the music department.
Classical performances with various community ensembles, including the Northeast Orchestra, Texas Chamber Music Project, and Flutissimo Flute Choir.
Gigs with local organizations in various settings on different instruments, both as a soloist and ensemble member.
Teaching Experience: Student conductor and principal flute at Texas Wesleyan; experience with leading both full ensemble rehearsals and sectionals.

Teaching Philosophy: The process of learning music should cover the necessary techniques and concepts of the instrument being taught, but more importantly should be an enjoyable personalized experience depending on the musician and what they enjoy learning more about/what benefits them the most.
Get to know Alex Garcia
Beginning my musical journey when I was a child, I started playing flute/piccolo in grade school then was quickly able to expand my abilities by also learning how to play guitar, piano, oboe, and orchestral string instruments. I graduated from Summit High School in 2020 and went on to attend Texas Wesleyan University where I graduated in the Spring of 2024 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance. During my time at Texas Wesleyan, I was a student conductor and played in the Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble. I am also a member of many local orchestras and ensembles, and I frequently play gigs at events around the DFW area on all of my instruments.
