Get to know Alexander Vietheer
My name is Alex Vietheer and I have been a private music instructor for six years. I am currently a high school music teacher in the Bronx where I instruct music theory, intro to piano, and music production.
My goal in private instruction is to provide a fun and engaging learning environment. My first private music lesson with any student always starts with the same three questions:
1. What makes you want to play this instrument?
2. What do you want to be able to do on this instrument?
3. What is your favorite type of music?
These questions give me the information I need to cater the learning experience towards each individual students interests. My approach for all music lessons is to get students playing as quickly as possible. I use familiar melodies and scaffolded notation to get students playing their instruments right away. Each lesson will introduce new music literacy concepts and technical skills that build on the previous lesson. It is my goal to ensure that every student has fun in their lesson while still learning the necessary and foundational skills on their instruments to consistently improve.
I am skilled in preparing students for NYSSMA solos and have had the pleasure of students bringing back perfect scores.
Please contact me if you are interested in music lesson on the guitar, piano, ukulele, bass, saxophone, clarinet, or violin.
I look forward to being your teacher!
