Education: Alyson received a music scholarship to McKendree College, and also attended Southern Illinois
University.
She has 3 years training in the Taubman Technique, and attended a 2 week seminar at the Taubman Institute in Amhearst, MA. She received a standing ovation from Dorothy Taubman, the founder, and Edna Golandsky, now the director, of the Taubman Institute, at a private audition in North Miami Beach, FL.
Performance Experience: Alyson loves performing all genres of music, and has extensive experience including employment
as the pianist for a charter yacht company while living in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Teaching Experience: Alyson is a classically trained pianist, and has been teaching students, of all ages, since 1999.
She participates in National Guild of Piano Teachers and bi annual recitals for those who are interested.
Teaching Philosophy: She believes that each student should be uniquely taught. Attention should be given to
individual gifts, which leads to to proper pacing.

Alyson Headley Smith is a classically trained pianist. She was a member of National Federation of Music Clubs for over 10 years, and judged for 12 years at district, (evaluations) and 2 years at state competition. She also served on the district committee. Since 2010, she has been participating, and is a member of, the National Guild of Piano Teachers, and is on the Guild Teacher’s National Honor Roll Yearly. This year she will receive the Certificate of Approval (ACM Certification for Teachers), which is the highest honor a Guild teacher can attain.
