About Alyssa Kennedy

Hello Music Families! My name is Alyssa Kennedy. I am originally from Pennsylvania, but now find myself in North Carolina teaching music. Previously, I have taught in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, and Florida. My background includes marching band, concert band, wind ensemble, Jazz, Brass Band, Bucket Drumming, General Music, and some choral. Currently, I am the Director of Bands in a charter school located in Concord. While in college at Peabody Conservatory of Music, I had the pleasure of being in master classes with Edward Hoffman (Baltimore Symphony Orchestra), Joe Burgstaller (Canadian Brass), Chris Botti, and several other professional musicians. While attending Mansfield University, I performed at the 2012 London Summer Olympics performing in Hyde Park. Other interests outside of music include theater, dance choreography, coaching volleyball, lacrosse, reading and writing novels, and supporting the Arts in any way possible.
