Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that all people, young and old, have the ability to learn music. I believe that the more students are exposed, the more appreciation they have for music around them. I want students to enjoy their instruments and the music they are playing.
Get to know Amy Fitzner
Amy Fitzner teaches beginner to advanced flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, oboe, and recorder; beginner trumpet, violin, and percussion; and beginner to intermediate ukulele. Her structured, enjoyable lessons combine warm-ups, technique, music reading, theory, lesson books, and school music while providing clear practice goals. Amy believes students of every age and level can grow musically while having fun and enjoying their instrument. She prepares students for recitals, ECMEA and NYSSMA Solo Festivals, and school band performances. Amy holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University at Buffalo and brings 30 years of private teaching experience.
