Get to know Amy Fitzner
I teach General Music Education in the Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD. I spend my days teaching K-5 general music, choir, and drama. I hold a Bachelor's of Music Education from the University at Buffalo as well as a Master's in General Education with a concentration in Music Education from the University at Buffalo. Additionally, I hold a Level I Certification in Orff Pedagogy from the Eastman School of Music. I am an active participant with ECMEA (Erie County Music Educators Association) with chairing the All-County Choirs. I have also held the offices of President and Vice-President for the WNYOSA (Western New York Orff Schulwerk Association). Outside of school, I have taught private lessons for 27 years including, but not limited to flute, piccolo, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and piano. As a result of my classroom music, I have implemented a recorder and ukulele curriculum. When I am not teaching, I am camping and hanging around with my family.
