      Get to know Andrew Burris

      Andrew Burris is a brass specialist who has taught grades K-12 for the last four years. Mr. Burris attended the University of North Texas for a bachelors in music education with a specialty in band. During his time at UNT, Mr. Burris gained experience teaching beginners through the start up the band program teaching underserved students in the Denton community. Mr. Burris also helped teach the UNT Green Brigade and the Vines high school marching bands.

      After college Mr. Burris moved to Kingwood, just north of Houston, and taught K-5 music at Elm Grove elementary. During his time at Elm Grove Mr. Burris taught a drum club, and produced many fine arts programs for the school.

      During the last two years Mr. Burris has been the assistant band director for Llano ISD. During this time Mr. Burris helped at the high school instruct the yellow jacket marching band, conducted the Llano high school concert band, and aided in the instruction of the jacket jazz band. Along with his duties at the high school, Mr. Burris team taught all beginner instruments, with a focus on low brass and percussion, and aided in the instruction of the varsity and non varsity bands.

      Along with his experience in public education, M.r Burris has also played as a freelance musician throughout the hill country.
