About Angela Heyward

Angela Heyward is a clarinetist and ‘23 graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). She has played clarinet since she was a young girl and has performed worldwide from Carnegie Hall in New York to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Northern Ireland. Her most recent performances include the Iowa School of Music’s New Music Series and the International Clarinet Association’s New Music Weekend focused on performing works by living composers. Her teaching philosophy focuses on using music to gain a deeper awareness of yourself and the others around you through listening, trained focus, and playing with others. She has studied with Dr. Natalie Groom, Dr. E Michael Richards, and Tiffany Perry.
