About Ariana Coan

Ariana Coan
Music Teacher, Expert
Location: Fairview Heights, IL
Speaks: English
Instructs: Baritone, French Horn, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance (anticipated May 2022)
Performance Experience: SIUE Wind Symphony; SIUE Concert Band; SIUE Concert Jazz Band; SIUE Orchestra; SIUE Trumpet Studio; Blackburn Musical Pit Orchestra; Brass Quintet
Teaching Experience: I have taught private lessons for the past 4+ years, tutored for beginning band students while in High School, worked with my High School marching band since graduating, and worked at a Daycare for two Summers while organzing music and game time. I also started SIUE as a Music Education Major for two years, switching to Performance later on to focus on my instrument.
Teaching Philosophy: My philosophy for teaching is that first and foremost, music should be fun! I believe that the focus should be encouragement in learning and helping to push students in the direction of music that they take interest in. I am understanding in that every student may not continue into music as a career, but I would be able to tailor lessons to the individual's interests and provide them a solid foundation of technique that gives them the tools to grow as a musician.
