About Ashton Weigel

Ashton Weigel teaches beginner to advanced percussion, marching percussion, and drum set, creating lessons around the music and goals that excite each student. His fun, supportive approach develops healthy technique through jazz, Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, rock, pop, funk, and singer-songwriter music while incorporating improvisation, sight-reading, theory, and ear training. Ashton encourages students to view mistakes as an essential part of growth and uses regular goal-setting to guide progress. He prepares students for recitals, All-State, JVYO and college auditions, school programs, jam sessions, and favorite songs. Ashton studied Jazz Studies and drum set at the University of North Texas and has experience teaching private students and band camps.
