Performance Experience:
I have played as a soloist with the Orquesta de Baja California, was a member of the Orquesta Rio Nuevo for many years, and also a member of the IVC Symphony. I am currently a member of Mariachi Rosa Mexicana and my quartet, Classical Femmes. I have participated in the Candlelight Concerts and in August 2026 performed in the orchestra for Yandel Sinfónico.

Previously worked as an ASES tutor at the Heber Elementary School District, have been teaching private lessons since 2019
Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that anyone can learn how to play an instrument.

Get to know Astrid Ruelas
Astrid Ruelas teaches beginner to advanced violin and viola, helping students build confidence while developing strong musical foundations. Her lessons focus on music reading, technique, basic music theory, and performance skills while adapting to each student’s experience and goals. Astrid teaches classical, contemporary, mariachi, and pop music, giving students opportunities to explore different styles as they grow. She believes anyone can learn to play violin and encourages students as they prepare for recitals, concerts, auditions, and other performances.
