An award winning professional for over thirty years, Barbara has performed at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Grant Park Music Festival for over ten seasons, Lake George Opera Festival, Des Moines Metro Opera. Barbara has performed in opera houses and with Symphony Orchestras all over the world and continues to perform. With a teaching career that has been over thirty years, Barbara has taught many talented students, many of whom are now performing professionally. Barbara has taught at Illinois State University and DePaul University with students that have performed with the Ravinia festival, Chicago Symphony Chorus, Chicago Chamber Opera, Peoria Civic Orchestra, Elgin Symphony Orchestra. Some of Barbara's students have taught at Drake University, many have received full scholarships to attend NorthWestern University, Boston Conservatory, University of Illinois, UCLA, Baldwin Wallace, Illinois Wesleyan.
Barbara holds a Master degree of Voice and pedagogy from DePaul University, an Undergrad from The American Conservatory of Music on voice performance and a minor in piano, as well as a post graduate certificate from the Amierican Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. Barbara is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor's Fraternity, Mu Phi Epsilon Music Fraternity, Musicians Club of Women, The Society of American Musicians, and American Guild of Musical Artists. Barbara Has been the recipient of many awards and has done masterclasses at Illinois State University, Western Illinois University, Eastern Illinois University, And the University of Nevada.
