Get to know Blythe Mccammon
Blythe McCammon is a violinist and educator based in Northern Virginia who is passionate about helping students grow into confident and expressive musicians. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Towson University. During her time there, she served as Concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra and received the Towson University String Area Talent Award, Music Theory Division Talent Award, and the McConnell-Brungardt Scholarship.
Blythe has worked with students across a wide range of musical backgrounds through orchestra programs, academic tutoring, and festival settings. She has coached violin sectionals with the Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestra, worked as a music theory tutor at Towson University’s Tutoring and Learning Center, and currently leads orchestra rehearsals and sectionals as a music substitute teacher in Loudoun County Public Schools.
In addition to teaching, Blythe has served on panels of judges for student performance events and has worked behind the scenes at orchestral auditions and competitive festivals. These experiences have given her unique insight into how auditions are evaluated and what adjudicators look for in strong performances. She enjoys helping students prepare for auditions, competitions, and concerts by developing strong technique, thoughtful musical interpretation, and confident stage presence.
Blythe’s teaching approach focuses on building a solid technical foundation while fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of music.
