Teaching Experience: Brian Hayes has over 20 years experience as a private music instructor in the Greater Orlando area, teaching students of all ages. He's published two guitar teaching methods in addition to many arrangements for solo guitar. With his beginnings in rock, blues and metal, Brian has developed his teaching methods for all styles and levels of guitar, in addition to teaching bass, mandolin and ukulele.
Teaching Philosophy: Since my adult students may already have an idea of the styles of music that interest them, I begin by formulating a method plan to fit their musical interests and goals. The IReal Pro app is used to provide backing tracks for all written assignments. For my younger beginners, the Hal Leonard Method is my typical approach. The "Easy Pop Melodies," are then added, which is a great way to apply the note-reading skills learned in the method books. "IReal Pro" is used for all backing tracks.
