About Bryce Russell

I began my first musical endeavor with guitar when I was 9 years old through private lessons. Not much later, I began performing in church choir and talent shows. Middle school electives introduced me to my main instrument, viola, as well as violin, cello, and bass. My high school didn't have an orchestra so I played oboe in concert band, alto sax in marching band, and piano & electric bass in jazz band. Most recently I played first chair viola in the Randolph College concert orchestra on the Let Wisdom Rise music performance scholarship. I look forward to helping students get ahead in musical classes at school or just working with someone pursuing a hobby. I enjoy nearly any genre of music but when it comes to contemporary genres I am biased towards alternative, rock, indie, edm, and metal. With 12 years of performance experience and about a year of professional teaching experience, I look forward to helping you grow in your musical endeavors as well.
