      Get to know Byron Coulter

I have five years of teaching both middle and high school band. I received a bachelor's degree in instrumental music education from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. During my time at WMU, I was a member of the 300-member Bronco Marching Band, University Symphonic Band, University Concert Band, and Basketball Pep Band. I studied saxophone with Trent Kynaston and Andrew Rathbun.

After graduating from college, I moved out to the sunny state of Arizona in 2016 for my first teaching job in St. David, AZ - a small rural town southeast of Tucson. From 2016 to 2019, I taught band, choir, small ensembles, and general music from grades 2-12. I most recently came from Rio Rico, AZ, where I was the band director at Rio Rico High School from 2021 to 2023.

I am passionate about band music and saxophone performance. I am a dedicated musician who takes an interest in all of my students and enjoy coaching them in reaching their goals. In my free time, I enjoy good quality coffee, working out, and spending time with my wonderful cat, Roz. I am also an avid James Bond 007 fan."
