      Education: Palm Beach Atlantic College 1971-1974 I studied voice, piano and music theory. Performances include madrigal, choir and ensemble. At Palm Beach Community College 1974-1975 I studied jazz harmony, guitar and music theory. I studied guitar & Bass with Vince Bredice for six years. Bredice is the author of 'The Complete Book of Guitar Improvisation ' for Mel Bay publications. I Studied with Joseph Iadone for two years. Iadone was the principle bassist for the Metropolitan Opera of New York City.
      Performance Experience: I am currently performing with The Mark May Band. Copeland Davis, Las Vegas pianist – Electric Bass Michael Tschudin, (pronounced Shudin) has performed with several major label artists including David Bowie, Tim Curry, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy and Jimmy Buffett – Electric Bass & Guitar Felix Gomez, Grammy Award winning Jazz Pianist; University of Miami Instructor – Electric Bass Kevin Cowart, Down Beat Award winning Tenor Sax Player – Guitar, Electric and Upright Bass, Steel Drum
      Teaching Experience: I have been teaching students age 7 to 70 for over 40 years. For beginner students, I teach the fundamentals: technique, note reading, rhythmic interpretation, harmony and the trilogy of music (scales, chords and arpeggios) For advanced students and professional musicians, I evaluate technique and teach methods for improvement.
      Teaching Philosophy: In my experience, it isn't necessarily the most talented student that is the most successful, but the one who has a consistent practice schedule and who doesn't give up! You can accomplish any goal you want with dedication and perseverance! there is no "can't," only "CAN!"

      Get to know Charles Lacy

      I was born into a musical family. My grandfather played fiddle my grandmother played pump organ and everyone sang. My father played guitar, harmonica and was a songwriter, who sold songs to 1950’s Country Western stars, Eddie Arnold, Slim Whitman and others.

      I play guitar, upright bass and electric bass and sing harmony and lead vocals but have also taught Banjo, Mandolin, Ukulele, Harmonica and Steel Drum. I have been teaching students age 7 to 70 for over 40 years.
