Charlie Schmid is a dynamic performer and educator with over two decades of experience spanning the classical, world music, and rock genres. Now based in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Charlie has built a distinguished career defined by rhythmic precision and melodic soul.

A graduate of the prestigious Aaron Copland School of Music, Charlie has spent over twenty years bridging the gap between world-class education and professional performance. He has served on the faculties of some of New York’s most renowned private institutions, including The United Nations International School, The Brearley School, and the Aaron Copland School of Music (CPSM). His leadership in these elite settings—ranging from conducting chamber music to directing percussion programs—has cemented his reputation as a master of both rhythm and pedagogy.

Charlie’s career is marked by a rare versatility. Whether he is teaching privately, leading a percussion ensemble, or composing award-winning scores—such as his Best Original Film Score win at the Brooklyn International Film Festival—his work is rooted in a high level of collaborative spirit and technical excellence.
