She studied classical guitar at the Nutmeg Music Conservatory with master guitarist George Hadjimarkou from CYPRUS and also attended the Hartt School of Music Community Division. Inspired by her father who was a poet, Cheryl began writing poetry at an early age. After becoming friends with American Children’s Author E.B. White from Brooklin Maine in 1979, Cheryl began songwriting.

Cheryl Jeanette is a contemporary Folk artist and has released an EP “Spirit of the Seasons” that was inspired by her friendship with American Author E.B. White and spending time on his island in Maine. This EP features her original song Yellow Wings that has also been arranged full orchestra for a movie soundtrack. Her two albums “Down to Earth” and “Auburn Street” feature songs Flowers Bloom In May (dedicated to Cathedrale Notre Dame de Paris) and Finish Line

(dedicated to the American Champion Thoroughbred racehorse “Barbaro” who won the 2006 KY Derby). Both albums received Grammy considerations and a warm welcome in the NY Folk Circle.

In 2024, Cheryl was a VIP presenter at the National Equine Affaire in the USA with the nation’s top Olympic Equestrians and trainers as the Creator of “Sound Bath for Horses” a deeply immersive listening experience using her Sound Healing instruments from around the world inviting a gentle yet therapeutic and restorative process to nurture the mind and body of the Horse.

Cheryl has met artists including John Denver, Carly Simon, Chet Atkins, Gary Shea, Chris Caffery, Joel Hoekstra, Randy Owen, Robert Tellefsen and has been inspired by the poetic songwriting of Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Pete Seeger, Daryl Hall and many other great musicians. She has attended numerous master classes with Grammy Award winning artists including Chris Stapleton, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Disney supervisors, Taylor Swifts former manager Rick Barker, Emmy nominated Film composer David Hamburger, Grammy Award winning music composer RL Castleman (songwriter for Alan Jackson, Chet Atkins & Alison Krauss), the late Frederick Kewley (manager for Harry Chapin & Chet Atkins), and acoustic guitarist Peppino D’Agostino from Messina Italy.

As a member of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild, Cheryl continues to perform her original music in NY, in addition to recording and composing music in Maine.
