Teaching Experience: Private teaching since 1992, with students of various levels of experience.
Teaching Philosophy: My philosophy is to provide beginning students with a few simple tools so they can gain the satisfaction of performing a simple song in whatever genre they desire as quickly as possible.
My instruction includes proper setup and relaxed posture at the kit, grips and the various ways of holding the sticks, the Moeller method, rudiments, and independent coordination, along with basic rock, funk, jazz, latin, and reggae rhythms.
Get to know Chris Jones
Chris Jones in active drummer in the Raleigh area with more than 50 years performance experience. He is proficient in the genres of fusion, progressive rock, classic rock, and funk, and was a major influence in the NC progressive drumming scene during his career.
Chris is best known as the drummer for the progressive rock band Glass Moon. The band was the first group signed by Electric Lady Studios in New York City, with two albums released in the early 80s and three singles making it to the Billboard charts.
He has performed with many notable musicians, including:

Chris has taught dozens of young and adult drummers at all levels of proficiency. He currently lives in Raleigh, and plays weekly with a jazz be-bop band and a classic rock band.
