About Chris Stroud
Get to know Chris Stroud
I have over 30 years of playing experience and have been a private music instructor for over 20 years. At 5, my mother introduced me to the basic elements of reading music on the piano. In Jr. High, my father was my sole instructor for learning Coronet. At 13, I began playing electric bass and started learning basic chords on the guitar. It wasn't long after that I began making fond memories with friends in different bands growing up. After high school, I began pursuing a performance degree in music at Clayton State University for Classical Guitar under Dr. William Hearn. During this time, I became a member of the the Clayton State Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo as an electric bassist under Stacey Houghton. I later pursued further studies for Classical Guitar with John Sutherland, Mary Akerman, and George Petsch. I have taught privately through Music and Arts for last 17 years.
