About Lita Blake

Lita Blake studied under jazz and rhythm & blues trumpeter/vocalist Professor Dr. Donald Byrd at Howard University. Mrs. Blake performed with jazz pianist Billy Taylor and bassist Ron Carter for the Settlement Music School jazz series in Philadelphia, PA. She also performed with jazz-fusion bassist Stanley Clarke at Holmesburg Prison for a benefit concert. Lita recorded with Grammy nominee George Howard, recorded and performed with Grammy award winner jazz saxophonist Grover Washington Jr. Lita also performed at the famous Blue Note jazz club in New York with jazz violinist John Blake Jr. 

From 2010 through 2017 Mrs. Blake held the position of piano, vocal instructor and adult day care music therapist for Fulton County senior services as well as a piano and voice instructor for Fulton County after school programs. Lita currently performs with her husband and band members for local, out of state and international events.
