Connor Swaenepoel
Music Teacher, Professional
Location: Orchard Park, NY
Speaks: English
Instructs: Baritone, Tuba
Education: Highschool Diploma - Frontier Central Highschool;
Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition and Tuba Performance - State University of New York at Fredonia;
Masters in Music Composition - State University of New York at Fredonia.
Performance Experience: Throghout Highschool, I was the principle tuba player for the school Wind Ensemble and Orchestra. During that time, I also participated in various Erie All County music festivals as well as NYSSMA Area All-State. I attended NYSSMA Confrence All-State in 2015. During my undergraduate studies, I performed for the Fredonia Concert Band, Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, and College Symphony Orchestra.
Teaching Experience: In fullfillment of my Tuba Performance degree, I assisted in the Tuba/Euphonian class for two years of my studies. On ocassion I would lead the class and teach the future music educators how to conduct a lesson for a student who plays a tuba or euphonian. Plus, I would teach the students how to play the instrument using my own methods that I've aquired throughout my career with performing the tuba.
Teaching Philosophy: With the years of learning how to perform the tuba, I evaluate where a student is at with their instrument and guide them through the process that is reflective of my expirences. I also learn more skills through the journeys that these students take with their instruments.
