About Dean Bouras

Dean held the position of Director of Bands for the Royse City ISD, Royse City, Tx. for 28 years.  During that time the Royse City Band became an award winning  program in concert, marching, and jazz band performance. Upon retirement he has devoted his time to teaching guitar/banjo, composing, and arranging. His arrangements and compositions have been performed by numerous, amateur, school, and professional organizations.

The past 15 years Dean has been a member of  the Dallas Winds arranging staff, along with arranging for the Dallas Jazz Orchestra, Mesquite Community Band and Orchestra, Richardson Community Band, SMU Wind Symphony,Les Elgart Orchestra, Garland High School Jazz Band, Texas Saxophone Quartet, Dallas Banjo Band and Brave Combo.

Recent guitar/banjo performances have included Les Elgart Orchestra, Dallas Jazz Orchestra, Dallas Winds, Richardson Community Band, Garland High School Jazz Band, Rowlett High School Jazz Band, String Theory Manouche, SMU Wind Symphony and numerous  local broadway show productions.  

Dean has been a member of the Music and Arts teaching staff in Garland, Texas since 2019 and holds a Master Teacher qualification.
