      Performance Experience: Currently performing with the bands Asheson, and Rhumba Buena.
      Teaching Philosophy: To help the player develop a strong core of fundamentals that can be used in any situation and grow their enjoyment and efficiency in the practice room.

      Get to know Dakota Jackson

      With 18 years of experience playing trombone, Dakota Jackson has a deep passion for music and teaching.

      He holds a Master’s in Jazz Studies from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor’s in Trombone Performance from the University of Arkansas Little Rock. He is currently a freelance trombonist in the New Orleans area specializing in jazz and Latin music.

      Dakota loves helping students of all levels develop their skills and find their musical voice. Dakota's teaching philosophy is shaped by his career focusing on helping develop a strong core of fundamentals that can be used in any situation and growing their enjoyment and efficiency in the practice room.

      When he’s not teaching, you can find him spending time with his wife and their two beagles, enjoying life outside of music.
