About Dan Martin

Dan is a lifelong resident of Ocean County with a strong background in music education. He began playing trumpet in the Toms River Regional School District in fifth grade and continued through High School East, where he was a member of the High School Orchestra. Dan went on to attend Monmouth University, earning a B.A. in Music and Education. During his time at Monmouth, he performed as a trumpet player with the Monmouth University Chamber Orchestra and as a mellophone player with the Monmouth University Pep Band. He also expanded his skills by studying other brass instruments and assisting with low brass instruction in the Pep Band. After graduating, Dan served as a band director at a local elementary school, where he helped revamp the band program. He has also worked as a high school building substitute teacher in Jackson, teaching a variety of subjects and assisting with band and chorus.
