About Dan

Dan Schreiber has been a professional musician for over 30 years. Raised in Detroit, he has lived in California, Florida, and presently the Houston, Texas area. Over the years, Dan has performed as a solo artist and has been in all types of bands, playing rock & roll, blues, country/western, metal, disco, 1940s Big Band swing, and everything in-between, in restaurants, yacht & country clubs, 5-star Hotels and cruise ships.

As a Piano Instructor with more than 30 years experience, Dan has taught students at all levels - beginners, intermediate, and advanced - and knows the value of reading music, learning music theory, and ear training. His method of teaching stresses each of these aspects, to enable the student to develop the skills necessary to play any and all styles of music, as a solo piano player as well as a member of a band.

Drawing upon the knowledge gained from 1000+ gigs over the years, Dan teaches his students not only the essential building blocks of music -- scales and chords -- but also cool “licks” and techniques that are unavailable in books…. he shows the students what to concentrate on, and what to avoid. In addition, he can also demonstrate helpful finger-strengthening exercises and the secrets to understanding and remembering common chord progressions found in the most popular songs.
