About Dan Smith

Dan Smith teaches beginner to advanced guitar (and ukulele) beginner to advanced bass guitar beginner to intermediate mandolin beginner to intermediate banjo beginner to advanced Music Theory. His structured, flexible, and fun/relaxed lessons balance technique, musicianship, and enjoyment while adapting to each student's pace, interests, and goals. Students can explore classical, jazz, and rock while developing music theory and songwriting. Dan emphasizes confidence and enjoyment and encourages students to become confident, thoughtful, and increasingly independent musicians. He supports preparation for recitals and playing for enjoyment, as well as music-making for personal fulfillment. Dan studied Music Theory and Composition at Sam Houston and has been teaching professionally since the year 2000.
