Performance Experience: Guitarist in a 60s-80s cover band and performed in festivals such as Chicago Italian Fest, Milwaukee Italian Fest, Schaumburg Septemberfest, Schaumburg Summer Breeze, and many more. Performed in the pit for local productions of Legally Blonde the Musical, Heathers the Musical, All Shook Up, and many more. Various Jazz band and combo experience including the Harper College Jazz Ensemble and the Elmhurst University Gretsch Electric Guitar Ensemble. Various private solo classical guitar gigs.
Teaching Experience: Music Tutor at Harper College from 2020-2021
Teaching Philosophy: I believe in creating a safe learning environment through patience and positivity so students can feel free to learn at their own pace and creatively express themselves through music. My objective is to teach students the songs they want to learn, while also incorporating important techniques, skills, and theory in order to strengthen their musical and creative abilities. Get to know Danny Monzon
Hello! My name is Danny Monzon and I am thrilled to join the team here at Music and Arts in Schaumburg. I have been playing guitar for 11 years and have been involved in music for longer. My first instrument was cello, but I was always drawn to the guitar and finally when I was 12 I was able to take guitar lessons. I fell in love with the instrument and have not put it down since. Some of my biggest influences range from Earth, Wind, and Fire to Led Zeppelin. I am particularly fond of the guitar work on 70-80s funk and RnB acts but I also love genres such as classic rock, jazz, indie rock, J-Pop, and many more. Outside of music I like to cook, bake, garden, and spend time outdoors.
