Performance Experience: Solo (ala Joe Pass), Duo, Trio, Quartet, combo, 6-18 pc Big Band/Show Band, recording studio band.
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching guitar since 1984 (beginner-advanced-professional).
Teaching Philosophy: My philosophy is to get students playing as quickly as possible by teaching blues and their relationship/application to Rock, R&B, Jazz, Latin, and popular music with an emphasis on proper technique and attitude.

Get to know Dave Prieto

Dave is a jazz guitarist from San Francisco and moved to the Triangle in 2016.  Dave had the pleasure of working consistently with Akira Tana, Larry Hancock, James Levi, Paul Smith, Leon Williams, George Alexander, Charles Thomas, Arlington Houston, Don Payne, Kash Killion, Larry Vann, and Pete Escovido.  Dave has performed at the San Francisco Jazz Festival, San Jose Jazz Festival, Yoshi’s, and been a regular performer at the Julia Morgan Ballroom, Fairmont Hotel, Claremont Hotel, SF Museum of Modern Art, Cavallo Pointe Resort, and numerous country clubs, restaurants, and festivals throughout the Bay Area.  Dave performs solo jazz guitar (ala Joe Pass), duo, combo, to 18 pc big band/show band.  Dave has released 4 CD’s with his partner Leon Williams and toured across the US.  Still a Warriors and 49ers fan.
