Performance Experience: I have been involved in over 60 theatrical productions (musical and non-musical; on stage and behind the scenes. I have performed 2 vocal recitals and have played the piano extensively for choral groups, churches (organ), theater groups here in CT and in MT.

Teaching Philosophy: I am always looking for the "Aha" moment for students - the moment when something clicks. I have high expectations but I try my hardest to be encouraging and nurturing. I want the experience to be rewarding for the student not a labor.

David Nelson is a veteran music teacher with 29 years of private and public school teaching under his belt. His BA degree is from Southern Connecticut State University in Theater while his Master's Degree is in Vocal Performance at the University of Connecticut. David was a private teacher in Connecticut and Montana for about 9 years early in his career. He is equally comfortable teaching musical theater repertoire as well as classical music. His theater background includes over 30 productions on the musical theater stage and another 30+ productions backstage as director, musical director and almost every other backstage crew.
