About Derek Shockley

Derek Shockley is a guitar, bass, and ukulele teacher who creates relaxed, encouraging lessons that help students grow confidently while enjoying the music they love. He teaches beginner to advanced electric and acoustic guitar as well as beginner to intermediate bass and ukulele, blending technical development with tone, musicality, ear training, and music theory. Derek has experience teaching pop, classic rock, jazz, and contemporary worship styles, tailoring each lesson to the student’s personal interests and goals. Whether preparing for auditions, school programs, or simply learning for fun, students receive thoughtful guidance and steady support. Derek earned a degree in Music Education from Messiah University and has seven years of private teaching experience.
